What folder are ringtones stored on Android?

All the files on my device are fairly standard MP3 files so I can view all of them, however according to the FAQ, Ringdroid only supports MP3, WAV, AAC, MP4, 3GPP, and AMR files. Ensure the audio file you wish to use as a ringtone is in one of the acceptable formats before copying it over.

Steps

Prepare your ringtone file.

Connect your Android phone to your computer using a USB cable.

Open your device’s storage.

Open the Ringtones folder.

Copy the ringtone file into the Ringtones folder.

Disconnect your phone after the ringtone transfers.

Open the Settings app on your phone and select “Sound”.

To browse through the tones that came with your phone, follow these steps:

From the home screen, press the Menu key then choose Settings.

Scroll through the Settings list until you find the Sound option.

Press the Sound option.

Select the Phone Ringtone option.

Load music onto your device using a USB cable

Download and install Android File Transfer on your computer.

If your screen is locked, unlock your screen.

Connect your computer to your device using a USB cable.

Locate music files on your computer and drag them into your device’s Music folder in Android File Transfer.

In their contact details, press Edit in the top right corner. Scroll down until you see Ringtone and Vibration. Tap on either option to select which sound plays and the pattern of vibration for when this contact calls. Below this, you can repeat the process for messages, by select Text Tone and Vibration.

Assign a ringtone to a contact – Samsung Galaxy S7 edge

From the home screen, tap Apps.

Scroll to and tap Contacts.

Tap the preferred contact.

Tap EDIT.

Scroll to and tap More.

Scroll to and tap the Ringtone field.

Tap to select the new ringtone, then tap the Back key.

How to change your ringtone on the Samsung Galaxy S7

Swipe down from the top of your screen to reveal the Notification Shade.

Tap on the Settings button in the top right corner (looks like a gear).

Tap on the Sounds and Vibration button.

Tap on ringtone.

Choose a ringtone from the list by tapping on it to preview and select it.

Method 2 Transferring Music Files on Windows

Connect your Android to your computer.

Open Start.

Open File Explorer.

Go to your music folder.

Select the music you want to add.

Click the Home tab.

Click Copy to.

Click Choose location.

Scroll down to the Notifications section and tap Sound. Select a new notification sound from the list, then tap OK. Once you’re done, tap the back-arrow button in the upper left to leave the Settings screen. Other apps may have their notifications sound options in their own settings menus.

Set Ringtone for All Text Messages

From the Home screen, tap the app slider, then open the “Messaging“ app.

From the main list of message threads, tap “Menu” then choose “Settings“.

Select “Notifications“.

Select “Sound“, then choose the tone for text messages or choose “None“.

Select “File Transfer”.

Now from the PC/Laptop, browse to the Moto G4 Plus and go to device > Internal Storage > Ringtones.

Copy the MP3 songs or ringtones which you want to use.

Now in the device go to “Settings”->”Sound&notification”->”Phone Ringtone”.

From the home screen, tap Apps.

Scroll to and tap Settings.

Scroll to and tap Sounds and vibration.

Scroll to and tap Notification sound.

Tap Default notification sound.

Tap the preferred notification sound and then tap the Back key.

Steps

Open Messenger. It’s the blue chat bubble icon with a white lightning bolt in the app drawer.

Tap the Profile Settings icon.

Tap Notifications and Sounds.

Slide the “Notifications and Sounds” switch to the On position.

Slide the “Sound” switch to the On position.

Tap Notification Sound.

Select a sound.

Tap OK.

Steps

Tap the price to the right of a ringtone.

Tap BUY TONE.

Enter your Apple ID password.

Tap Done to begin downloading the ringtone.

Change your ringtone

On your iOS device, go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics.

Tap the sound that you want to change. You can change your Ringtone, Text Tone, New Mail sound, Calendar Alerts, and more.

Tap on the name of a ringtone or alert tone to hear it play and set it as the new sound.

Choosing your song and creating an AAC version

Step 1: Open and update iTunes.

Step 2: Choose a song. Next, choose the song you’d like to use for your new iPhone ringtone.

Step 3: Add the start and stop times.

Step 4: Create an AAC version.

Step 5: Copy the file and delete the old one.

Method 1 Changing Your Phone’s Ringtone

Open the Settings app on your device. You can select from a variety of pre-installed ringtones.

Select “Sound & notification” or “Sound.”

Tap “Ringtone” or “Phone ringtone.”

Tap a ringtone to select and preview it.

Tap “OK” to save your ringtone.

Method 2 iTunes Store on your iPhone

Open the iTunes Store app.

Tap “More” (…),

Select “Charts” or “Featured” to browse available ringtones.

Tap the price next to the ringtone you wish to download.

Tap “OK” to download the ringtone.

Launch the “Settings” app, then choose “Sounds”.
