Securing Safe Communities
As a longtime local official, I know that ensuring our families' and neighborhoods’ safety is of utmost importance. The only way to achieve this is by providing our local law enforcement and emergency response agencies the necessary resources and modern equipment to do their jobs. Our district’s beaches and wildfire-prone open spaces require a unique proactive approach to maintain safety and security on land and sea.
We also must address sober-living home reform once and for all to protect patients and our communities. We cannot tolerate operators who depend on and profit from a model of relapse instead of recovery and who curb their clients, thus exacerbating our homeless crisis. I will finish the work I started in Costa Mesa to address this issue statewide.
