How to use Family Sharing with the Calendar app

Launch the Calendar app on your iPhone or iPad once you’ve enabled and set up Family Sharing already.

Create a new event or tap on an existing one that you’d like to appear on the family calendar.

Tap on Calendar.

Choose the calendar labeled Family.

By making sure that your two iPhones are associated with Apple ID and iCloud account, you can not only sync your iPhone calendar with another iPhone but create and share your calendars with other Apple iCloud users with iCloud. Launch the Calendar app from your Home screen.

Add all the email addresses of the people you’d like to share the event with.

Launch the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad running iOS 8 or higher.

Add your existing calendar subscription to iCloud

Open Calendar.

Click the Calendars button in the upper-left hand corner of the window to see your list of calendars.

Click the Share button to the right of the calendar name in the sidebar, then select Private Calendar.

Type the invitee’s email address in the Add Person field, then press Return.

Click the pop-up menu with the invitee’s name, then choose access privileges (View & Edit or View Only).

How to manually edit a calendar event on your iPhone or iPad

Launch the Calendar app on your iPhone or iPad.

Tap on the entry you’d like to edit in order to view its information.

Tap on Edit in the upper right hand corner.

Edit anything you need to and then tap Done in the upper right hand corner to save your changes.

Launch the Calendars app from your Home screen.

Give the new calendar a name and a color to represent it.

In order for the iPhone/iPad calendar ‘add event’ dialog box to offer an ‘Invitees’ button, you must first have set up either a iCloud @me.com address or an exchange account. If that is done, when you press the plus sign to create an event or edit an existing event, select the ‘Invitees’ button.
